Mr. Soggins to address Spartanburg GOP convention

April 19, 2007

 PRESS RELEASE

SPARTANBURG- The Spartanburg County GOP will conduct a business meeting
during the first 90 minutes of this Saturday’s Convention.  Along with
election of Party officers and Resolutions; the Convention will also be
treated to a keynote speech by Donald S. Scoggins of Washington, D.C.
Mr. Soggins will offer a very convincing speech of the merits of the GOP.
In a time that many GOP voters are concerned about current events, Mr.
Scoggins will offer a very encouraging perspective.

Mr. Scoggins’ resume (which is attached); has been involved as a GOP
activist since the 1950’s with the election of President Eisenhower.  What
makes Mr. Scoggins unique is that he is an African American.  During times
when it was not very popular for African Americans to be involved in the
GOP, Mr. Scoggins can offer a long term committment record of
accomplishment.  His remarks which are slated to be about 10 minutes will
encourage the Convention Delegates to stay very much involved in the 2008
campaign and will encourage local African American to take a close look at
the GOP.
