I was just wondering if anyone knew what the age requirement is to get into the club, is it 18+ and how much does it cost?

I was wondering the same things! How much? Age? Dress? I’m a little excited! Hopefully somebody who went tonight can let us know for tomorrow!

I went last night, it was 20 for 18+ and men, and 5 for ladies 21+. The dress was skanky dresses or jeans and a tight top. I do not recommend going. We went early and waited for an hour to get in, but later I heard some people waited 2+ hours. The “mixed crowd” really meant that the club was filled with really old people looking to regain their youth. Random guys would go up to girls and start groping them. The whole place was poorly done, and drinks were like 5X overpriced. The only positive was there was good music, but otherwise your paying good money to be groped by really old people. Best bet would be club element or Five points, don’t waste your time or energy on this club!

Went Saturday with some friends…due to the fact that they had Tito Ortiz shirts on *he was one of the guests that night* and not a collared shirt or sweater…they were going to charge them 50 dollars a piece to get in. However, the husband and I who were dressed fine to get in…..thought that was absurd to charge them that. So we left with them. The time we were in line….it only moved about every 20 minutes and at the time we were about 8th in line. May go back….not sure.

My boyfriend & I went Saturday night b/c he really wanted to see Tito Ortiz and he wore jeans, a black sweater, and black shoes & they wouldn’t even consider letting us in (or even charging us that much!). We drove up from Aiken and they told us to go home and change… My opinion is this is either gonna take off because it is so picky, or that it is gonna flop big time because they are such assholes. Luckily we knew somebody in there so he got the season of Ulitmate Fighter 3 signed for us!

Some friends and I went their Saturday to see Tito and Jenna…It was ok…At first it was kinda blah, We did end up having a good time…The cover wasn’t bad, it’s $10, which I’m opposed to a cover if you are of age, but whatever…Some of my friends (girls) were wearing jeans, and we were able to get in…My only complaints are it’s too much like a strip club…they have a million jello shot girls running around always asking if you want a shot (annoying) and dancing in the cage like stages, they are one article of clothing away from being a stripper…Really the worst part about the club is. they put a $75 hold on your credit card when you run a tab!!! So bring cash…Other then that, it was pretty good…they played a variety of music…very clean bathrooms!! I’m such a germ freak, so that is very important to me…As far as going back is concerned…I would not make plans to go back, but if I were with a group of friends and someone suggested it, I wouldn’t oppose it.

Wow… it was AAAAA-MAZING!!! I don’t understand why people are complaining about having to wait in line to get it… in my opinion it’s a sign of a good club. If you go to any clubs in New York, LA, or Miami that is what happens when the place is banging. My friends and I absolutely loved the decor!!!! And we are definitely going back!!!!

the people that are talking negative about tabu nightlife has probably never experienced a high end , real nice , dance club. IT AIN’T CLUB RA. very plush,
very nice, bathrooms are beautifull with bathroom attendents in both. trouble makers
and drunks are stopped at the door and not allowed in.security is tight at the door and inside.i have been there every night it has been open.and if you like to dance and have fun without hanging out with a bunch of thuggs or people you would not have your wife around or date around, then come on out dance your ass off and feel safe
about having a good time.you always get what you pay for.

Tabu is an amazing place. I have gone there every weekend and will continue for as long as they are around!! Which I know will be a very long time. The music keeps you dancing all night long!!! I bar tenders are great!! The jello shots are fun. The dance floor is fabulous with the different platforms it keeps the flow of people more evenly spread out. It is an amzzing, plush, high-end club. I don’t mind any charge that they ask, I’m going to be at Tabu all weekend long!!!!

Last night everything from the cover charge to the drinks were totally overpriced. The DJ was horrible. What a rip off.

Tabu is the best nightlife i’ve experienced in Columbia……it’s suitable for Columbia’s younger nightlife…..variety of music……..great drinks….friendly staff and bartenders…the cleanest bathrooms i’ve yet to seen in a club, puts Element next door to shame, if you don’t wanna pay, then DONT go! It’s classy, I love it!

yeah yeah yeah i hear it all the time the drinks are over priced and the music sucks and on top of that the guys that work there are jerks……hmm i wonder why i hear it…it must be true. but for all the underage little kids going out to have a fun time go for it, they stamp your hand at the door and rip you off too but as soon as you get in you can walk up to any one serving drinks and buy what ever you want. although you will have to spend an ass of money to get drunk you still can and ot worrie about anything, shoot even when you walk out side with a drink in your hand the columbia cops will look at you and tell you to go home and not do a dam thing to you. so if you are young and just looking to get fucked up go for it, and if you are old and just looking for a fucked up youngin to go home with you thats the place to go.

btw who in there right mind would spend….what was it 250 or more on a bottle or jack or crown or something like that?

I heard that it got sold to steve james? a former carolina panther player and that he was going to re open it on june 6..with justin timberlake. i’m not exactly sure how true that is so if anyone else hears please post

Stephen Davis (Carolina panther player who also bought Pure off St. Andrews from Rob) bought Pure at the end of May. It re-opened June 13th and is continuing to remain open. Its starting out slow but then again what isn’t slow in Columbia in the summer time? THey are cracking down on 21+ and seek to enforce it. There are absolutely no drunks are ridicuously clothed people. Dress-code is still slightly enforced.
Bring back all the great people to party out here so we can keep it alive!

For all of those complaining you’ve got to admit, the atmosphere and decor are way better than anything in Five Pts, or Element!

Bring the girls! Bring the guys! and lets party!

Don’t go. I went to Tabu to have a good time, but as I made my way through the crowd to the dancefloor, I accidently brushed up against a guy, who promptly elbowed me and made a big scene. I apologized and walked on, yet the bouncers threw ME out and let the other guy stay there. I spoke with the manager and he said that once his bouncers threw someone out that they wouuldn’t be let back in and wouldn’t get their money back. I proved I wasn’t drunk or feisty, yet management took my money and threw me to the curb. Talk about poor management.
