Rock Hill, SC-Former Arkansas Governor and presidential candidate, Mike Huckabee, endorsed Glenn McCall, today, in the race for Republican National Committeeman.

In a letter to South Carolina Republicans, Huckabee writes, “The Republican Party has a tough road ahead of them.  We need strong leaders that understand the task ahead and are prepared for the challenges we are sure to face.  Glenn McCall understands what is needed to help move our party forward and that is why I am supporting his candidacy for National Committeeman.”

Huckabee goes on to tout McCall’s real record, citing his service in the Air Force and to the SC Republican Party, as well as his conservative values.  “As a man of faith, Glenn believes in defining marriage between one man and one woman, and that we must fight to protect the unborn.  Also, Glenn believes in protecting our freedoms, and for that reason he is an avid second amendment supporter,” Huckabee said.

McCall thanked Huckabee for his support in the race.  “Mike Huckabee ran a totally different kind of race than we have seen in modern politics by gaining support without attacking the man that is now our candidate.  His willingness to stick to his conservative principles is remarkable and I am proud to have his support for my candidacy.”

Glenn McCall, Chairman of the York County Republican Party and Second Vice Chairman of the SC Republican Party, has 23 years of management and financial services industry experience and is a veteran of the United States Air Force.  He is the first African American Chairman in York County Republican Party history. If elected to the RNC, Glenn would be the only African American to serve on that committee.

The race for Republican National Committeeman will be decided by the delegates at the May 31, 2008 SC State Party Convention.
