Republican Political Activist Randy Page Calls on Mark Sanford To Resign

2009 June 26

This is a personal statement from Randy Page:

“The events of the past few days have been a sobering reminder to all South Carolinians of our human frailty. As a friend and supporter of Governor Sanford, I am deeply saddened and surprised with his admission and the lengths that he went to mislead his staff and the citizens of our great state.

As a Christian brother, I have forgiven him for what he has done to his family and to our state. He and his family need our prayers as they take the time to reconcile. This is best done in the privacy of one’s home rather than under the harsh glare of television cameras from around the world.

In order to best protect and preserve his family and the integrity of the Office of Governor, it is necessary for him to resign from office to allow his family, his staff and the people of the Palmetto State time to heal and move forward.”

Andre Bauer’s former chief of staff (Randy Page) calls for Sanford to resign….let’s see, who would that benefit?

Sounds like someone wants his old job back…but in the big office this time.

Bauer doesn’t have a chance of being governor unless Sanford resigns. For the state of South Carolina, let’s hope that doesn’t happen.

Who cares what Randy Page thinks. He’s the guy who seeks to prop up Robert Ford over Real Republicans as the King of School Choice.

I think this country would be much better off if people placed the rights of citizens first, instead of their political party. You’ve got a lot to learn, GOP. I am a staunch conservative, and I voted for a Democrat last year who ran against Lindsay Graham. Why? Because he was more conservative than the incumbent. Don’t support people because of the label they wear, do your research and then do what is right.

Gov. Sanford lied for his orgasm.
He made his staff lie for his orgasm.
He left his state in political limbo for his orgasm.
He used the public’s money to achieve his orgasm.
His marriage problems likely stem from his orgasm needs.
He would have never admitted anything to the public unless he was caught.

Does your state feel proud to have a lying, cheating, thieving governor that puts his sexual needs before that of your state?

What a horrible example for the children of your state. Hey kids, think only of yourself, lie, steal and cheat to get what you want and you to can be successful.

How many of the 10 commandments did this supposed Christian knowingly ignore?

Randy’s right folks. It’s as simple as that. I’ve been a Sanford supporter for years, but the governor needs to face the consequences of his actions. He needs to remove himself from the public eye and reconcile to his family. As for Andre Bauer, while he may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer, he’s hinted that he might be willing to drop out of the gubernatorial race next year if he takes over for Sanford this year. And even if he didn’t drop out, he’s not going to do anything in the next 18 months that would jeopardize his chances of winning the governor’s office in 2010. Sanford has been a good governor for this state, but he violated the trust of his family and constituents, and needs to recognize that. This won’t simply go away and go back to life as usual.
