Gov. Sanford to Meet with First Responders, Discuss Ongoing Efforts in Wake of Darlington County Tornadoes

Columbia, S.C. – April 25, 2010 – Gov. Mark Sanford will travel to Darlington County tomorrow morning (Monday, April 26) to meet with First Responders and discuss with Emergency Management Division leaders and other law enforcement and medical team members their ongoing efforts in response to tonight’s tornado touchdowns. Reports from Darlington County at this point indicate there to be extensive property damage, power outages, and a limited number of injuries.

The Governor will be meeting with Darlington County Administrator Phyllis Griffitts, Allen Haynes and Mac McDonald with Darlington County Emergency Management, and other county officials beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Darlington County Emergency Operations Center (1625 Harry Byrd Highway, Darlington).
