Happy Independence Day!
As we go about enjoying a long weekend and celebrating our nation’s founding with family and friends, it is worth taking a minute to reflect upon what this day is all about, and to rededicate ourselves to preserving our nation’s founding principles. The fundamental truth embraced by our Founding Fathers was that the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are indeed God-given, and that as free people, we have the right and responsibility to govern ourselves. Those principles are just as true today as they were in 1776, and they still worth fighting for – whether it be on the field of battle or at the ballot box.
Have a safe and happy Fourth of July, and may God continue to bless each of us and our great Nation.
