Graham Campaign Files Pre-Primary Financial Report

COLUMBIA, SOUTH CAROLINA – U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham’s re-election campaign continues to gain momentum according to a recent financial report covering the last seven weeks.

Graham’s Pre-Primary report filed with the Secretary of the Senate details the campaign’s financial activity during the period April 1 – May 21, 2008. Graham reported raising $230,601.10 and spending $488,296.55. The campaign reported $4,519,323.36 cash-on-hand at the end of the period.

“Senator Graham is deeply appreciative of the strong support that continues to build as he heads into the final stretch of the Primary campaign,” said campaign manager Scott Farmer.  “Whether it’s confirming conservative judges, reducing wasteful federal spending, or pushing to strengthen our economy by making the Bush tax cuts permanent, Lindsey Graham’s common-sense conservative record of achievement is respected and appreciated by the voters of South Carolina. Lindsey Graham is clearly the strongest candidate to hold this seat in November.”

This strong fundraising report follows the momentum-building announcement earlier this month of the South Carolina Values Coalition comprised of top pro-family and pro-life leaders supporting Senator Graham’s re-election. The Coalition is co-chaired by former South Carolina Attorney General Charlie Condon and long-time pro-life leader Lisa Van Riper, who is President of South Carolina Citizens for Life.

Condon called Graham “a staunch defender of South Carolina values in the United States Senate.” Van Riper said Graham “has stood with us in our efforts to pass legislation protecting the unborn and fought to build a culture in which every child is protected.”

Below are the summary figures from the financial report.
