SCHotline: Riding The Storm Out…

September 3, 2008

Vee and I have decided to stay through Hanna and a frequent as possible retreat to MQ and we hope we will not regret it.  Most reports say the winds and swell to be less than we frequent at Bridgepointe.  Having said that I am somewhat worried as the science behind these weather systems movement is less than perfect.

Riding the storm out
Waiting for the thaw out
On a full moon night in the
Rocky Mountain winter
My wine bottle’s low
Watching for the snow
I’ve been thinking about what

I’ve been missing in the city
And I’m not missing a thing
Watching the full moon crossing the range
Riding the storm out

My lady’s beside me
She’s there to guide me
She says that alone we’ve finally
Found our home
The wind outside is frightening
But it’s kinder than the lightning life in the city
It’s a hard life to live
But it gives back what you give

The Calm Before the Storm? has confirmed in conversation with Col. Brooks of the South Carolina National Guard and in regard to the potential threat of Hurricane Hanna that drills have been move up a week starting today to contend with a possible request from the Governor’s Office and Office of Emergency Management for assistance.

Update: Just visited the gents at the marina and apparently all ships are departing for inland territory. This is not breaking news as anyone knows whom lives in Garden City; Marlin Quay. The water rises a foot easy over the inlet in a full moon let alone a cat 1 or 2, can you imagine… Anyway as our Legislative intern Blake told me I would be crazy to stay, and given that true, I may just leave early.
