I hope Grahm starts listening to the people of S.C. not buddies in Washington.
t least he is against bailouts
David, Is he? We are certain of one thing and that is that we don’t know what we don’t know and there is too much we don’t know about how we got where we are and how our government let us down this bad… All of them!
Kudos to Michelle Malkin for providing the names of these Senators. Unless there is a reason that I am not aware of, Senator Graham should not have supported someone that has questionable ethics. All of our representatives should be above reproach.
Henry,
Graham is safe for five years, but $$$ will not keep him his seat provided a viable candidate emerges…
I disagree with Graham’s vote, but think the premise of your article is stupid. There will be many other actions in the coming years by Graham that should be weighed in determining whether he should be reelected, not just this one item.
Also, thank you for publishing the list of names.
Dave,
Thanks for your comment. If it were for the grave situation that we face economically I would agree with you. Question; The only genius they could find to get us out of the situation uses turbo tax to do his own taxes and was part of the original bailout fiasco? We cannot stomach that crap sandwich.
Well, at least Grahamesty is consistent. He goes agains the conservative base on every issue. Guess he is would vote to confirm a child molester to the US Supreme Court given he can appoint a tax cheater to be the head tax collector. Hey, as long as Obama is happy. Lindsey should take up smoking, then LindseyO can hang out in the boys room with Bar-wackO
For an experienced political operative, you are making a curious choice to dedicate your efforts in the same old tired ultra-conservative direction which brought us such disaster in the recent election. Let the far-righteous set up a Conservative Party, and leave SC GoP to again find winning ways rather than resuming the sniping at every action which gives off an image of meanness and defeatist mentality. Republicanism relies upon the judicious exercise of our elected representatives’ best judgement, and we are the first to decry government by polls. Develop a program of leadership in these dangerous times, and support it without carping. As the churchlady on SNL would say, “Isn’t that precious ?”
Gene,
You give me too much credit and I don’t disagree in the entirety of your comment. Having said that, was this not a no-brainer no vote? Please do opine…
Anyone notice how much Geithner looks & acts like Eliot Spitzer? At least Spitzer resigned when he was caught being serviced by the prostitution that he was supposed to be fighting against.
Our leaders GAVE the tax job to Geithner when he was caught cheating on his taxes!
Wow, THAT IS change!!!!!!
I will not vote for him again unless he changes his agenda.
I have already contacted Mr. Grahamesty with my feelings, but he has made quite clear that he thinks we are all rednecks and could care less what we think.
I have already contacted Mr. Grahamesty with my views, but he has already made it plain he won’t listen to us and thinks we are a bunch of rednecks. I can not understand voters electing someone who attacks them (another good example is Murtha of Pennsylvania). I voted against him twice. Even his twin brother, McCain, voted right on this one.
Honest people don’t end up in Washington. One has to lack character, has to have a previous record and be a liar, cheat, etc.
This Mr. Geithner who was voted to be the Secretary of the Treasurery Impresses me as a person who thinks this position was due him and he has shown no embarassment for what he has done.
Well he has set an example and now all taxpayers can simply declare that they did not know that they had to pay txes or ply ignorant as Mr,. Gerthner just did.
A no-brainer ? If you’re looking for brains, you’re in the wrong room…not Congress’ strong suit. But as an effective rep., the vote for the immediate Treasury Secretary must have seemed the best available alternative. If one is faced with an erupting fire, one grabs the first available and capable fireman, without vetting him for race, religion or national origin. And, folks, we are facing the fire — virtual Armageddon. It takes one to tell one, and the new Secretary’s career path has introduced him to them all. Let’s let him hang himself along with all the others, or bail US out rather than the banks and brokerages. Now let’s go to work : “When the going gets tough, the tough get going”.
Maybe Graham et al are just putting partisanship aside.
The nomination of Mr. Geithner for Secretary of Treasury, clearly shows the real character of our new President.
