LARRY GROOMS REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE FOR SC GOVERNOR

May 15, 2009

PRESS RELEASE

From

LARRY GROOMS

REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE FOR SC GOVERNOR

843.825.4671

For Immediate Release May 15, 2009

I was unable to leave the State House complex until after 7:30pm and did not get to the Clarendon County Republican meeting as scheduled.

Yesterday, a few Republican members of the Senate cut deals with the Democrats which essentially killed for this year our pro-life bill (a 24 hour waiting period before having an abortion), voter and ballot security bill to require picture ID voter registration, pro-business anti-union bill (protects secret ballots for union formation), and the sovereignty resolution stating that under the US Constitution, SC is a sovereign state and that Congress is to adhere to the provisions in the 10th amendment. Some of our guys killed those bills on the eve of our Republican Convention.

It was a complete meltdown within our membership and I was right in the middle of the fight and could not leave.

There is within our Republican caucus a sub-caucus and we call ourselves the William Wallace Caucus. William Wallace was a freedom fighter and is best known from the movie Braveheart. We are SC patriots who fight for our foundational rights of Life, Liberty and Property. We support legislation that supports those rights and vigorously oppose legislation that violates any of those rights. I am the founding member of the WW Caucus and am currently its Chairman. Our membership more than doubled after this fiasco.

we as a nation of free men and women must start standing up for our nation our state and our freedoms now. we can not allow our country to become a nation that does not beleive in god, goodness, and freedom. we must elect (our reps) as men or women who believe in the constitution, the bill of rights, and mostly a living god who will hold all accountable for their actions.

Mr. Grooms, a friend of mine told me about you after I told him I wasn’t sure I wanted to vote for McMasters. After reading your post above, I think I have found my candidate for governor of the great state of South Carolina.
