In “Love Story,” Governor Continues to Extol Mistress

Governor Mark Sanford told the Associated Press earlier today that
Maria Belen Chapur “is his soul mate.”

So, for the second time in less than a week, the Governor of South Carolina boldly, unapologetically, publicly declares his devotion to a woman other than his wife.

A fine example to all the young men (and women) of our state don’t you think?

Then, to make matters worse, King David morphs into Oprah with this line:

This was a whole lot more than a simple affair, this was a love story, a forbidden one, a tragic one, but a love story at the end of the day.

Good grief. What is he thinking?

Now more than ever, we ask you to pray for the marriage of Jenny and Mark Sanford and for their four boys.

Also, if you haven’t already, please sign our message to Jenny by following the link at the bottom of this email.

You can also now send a personal message to the First Lady through StandwithJenny@palmettofamily.org

Thank you.

Just why did the Governor talk to AP on Tuesday, anyway? Simple: he’s paving the way for his next job.

He told reporters that he counseled Ms. Chapur on her failing marriage.

    Look out Dr. Phil!
