GREENVILLE — Christina Jeffrey, Republican candidate for Congress in South Carolina’s 4thCongressional District (Greenville/Spartanburg), today strongly condemned intrusive and unconstitutional questions being posed by the U.S. Census Bureau, and steep fines and possible imprisonment facing those who refuse to comply.  She has called on Congressman Bob Inglis to condemn this “Big Brother violation of privacy and individual freedom” and to demand a Congressional review of “this un-American assault on American freedom and individual liberty.”

The American Community Survey is administered on a random basis by the Census Bureau and includes questions about one’s ancestry and ethnic origin, the features of one’s home; the amount of electrical, gas and water bills; condo fees, insurance costs, rent earned or paid; languages spoken, one’s level of education; one’s physical, mental, or emotional condition; number of marriages; the hour one leaves for work, and how one travels to work; the status of one’s eyesight and hearing; and sources of income and one’s total income, including interest, dividends, rental income, or income from estates and trusts.

According to the Census Bureau website, “the American Community Survey is conducted under the authority of Title 13, United States Code, Sections 141 and 193, and response is mandatory.”  Those refusing to comply have been threatened with imprisonment and fines up to $5000. Jeffrey, a constitutional scholar, called the intrusive questioning “a lesson to all Americans as to how far our federal government has strayed from our Constitution and its guarantees of freedom and individual liberty.”  She recalled the words of Ronald Reagan, who said:

“We are a nation that has a government—not the other way around.”

Jeffrey criticized Congressman Bob Inglis’ silence in the face of Big Government intrusion and bullying.  “He clearly has become a member of the Party of Big Government” she said.

Every citizen should ban together and REFUSE to answer questions other than those necessary to complete the census. Let’s get lawyers to be prepared to help us fight against this invasion of our privacy!

Sounds like Ms Jeffrey is just trying to get media attention for her lagging campaign.

The American Community Survey is conducted under the authority of Title 13, United States Code, Sections 141 and 193, and response is mandatory. According to Section 221, persons who do not respond shall be fined not more than $100. Title 18 U.S.C. Section 3571 and Section 3559, in effect amends Title 13 U.S.C. Section 221 by changing the fine for anyone over 18 years old who refuses or willfully neglects to complete the questionnaire or answer questions posed by census takers from a fine of not more than $100 to not more than $5,000. The U.S. Census Bureau may use this information only for statistical purposes. We can assure you that your confidentiality is protected. Title 13 requires the Census Bureau to keep all information about you and all other respondents strictly confidential. Any Census Bureau employee who violates these provisions is subject to a fine of up to $250,000 or a prison sentence of up to five years, or both.

I will not comply if sent the above mentioned survey. What Christian Lawyer or better yet, rabid ACLU lawyer will defend me?
Anyone else up for the challenge?

I find it interesting on the “Greenupgop” that the web address they give … which is a government web address, is as confusing as it has ALWAYS been. I worked for 25 years in the legal field as a paralegal … doing lots of research in several government agencies – deciphering what they wrote/meant was a literal nightmare … nothing is different with USC Title 13.
WHERE are our Congressmen and Senators that are ‘suppose’ be protecting us from government intrusion?
And WHAT could the Census Bureau possibly need my insurance costs, my electrical, gas and water bills, features of my home ???, etc. for??????????????
And I’m suppose to believe that the government is going to ‘protect’ my information from hackers? PLEASE … give me a break.
But the question still remains – WHAT and WHY does the Census Bureau need this very personal information. Checking with Mr. Webster, I find that it is ONLY the taking of numbers of individuals in a given area for representation in Congress.
Do well for all of ‘us’ to do some serious research and WRITE to our Senators/Congressmen/Congresswomen.

You tend to spend an astronomical amount on therapies, medicines, nutritional supplements
and so on. The new Macadamia Natural Oil Nourishing Leave-In Cream also resembles
the sebum which is one of the many features of this product.
Lastly, I looked at the price, and saw it was less than 10 bucks.

I have found the simplest way to apply this is directly after bathing.
Simple face washing will not do the trick as many cleansers contain chemicals
that harm the skin. Active ingredients are needed in smaller quantities than base ingredients and are considered to have a more targeted and therapeutic effects.

A scar can be silvery, pink or brown in colour and they
can range in size and severity. It has been proven in clinical
trials to make a big difference to your skins condition – especially when it comes to
reducing the appearance of scars and stretchmarks. This oil won’t become rancid, and it won’t lose its antioxidants,
even if it’s stored for long time periods.
