GUNN’S MISLEADING ANNOUNCEMENT
Voters in South Carolina House District 79 were treated to another dose of disrespect this week with the announcement by far left candidate Anton Gunn of his intention to seek re-election in 2010.
Attempting to portray himself as an independent, business-minded leader, Mr. Gunn hides his true nature from the public.  Voters should ask, “why?”
The first word of the first line of Mr. Gunn’s March 1, 2010 news release is “Independent.”  Really?  Is “politically independent” the best way to describe the State Political Director of Barack Obama’s 2008 state primary campaign?  Is that how South Carolinians would label someone who reveled in the 2009 role as South Carolina State Director of “Organizing for America”—the post election community organizing group founded to push Obama’s “spread the wealth” government control of the economy agenda?
In his release, Mr. Gunn says he earned “the highest voting record rating of any Democrat” by South Carolina’s economically-minded Club for Growth.  But he fails to say that that rating was still an “F” for failure.
In his release, Mr. Gunn says the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce gave him a 75% pro-business voting record—without explaining that the average pro-business record was 79%, or that fully 31 members of the South Carolina House earned ratings of 100%.  Voters have a right to wonder why a candidate would so intentionally distort his record.
Especially in these tough economic times, dramatically accelerated since Mr. Gunn’s election, South Carolinians need a legislator who is better than below-average on business.
All Americans have seen the result of voting for candidates who hide their true character and agenda.  This year, South Carolina voters are well-advised to let a candidate’s record speak, and to not accept at face value misleading claims of an independent nature and intent.  Getting more of what our government has given in 2009 will not get South Carolina or South Carolinians back to work.
For 2010, Sheri Few will lead, not mislead, the Midlands.

Gunn is a 9/11’er . Heard him say it on Awareness before he became Obamas campaign manager. Surprised me because his brother was killed in the Cole attack. He is far far left. Not independent in any sense of the word.

Many of us in District #79 are thrilled that Mrs. Few is stepping up to the plate to defeat Anton Gunn. I think it shows great courage on her part, and that is the kind of leader we need right now. We are tired of being represented by Obama’s leader in South Carolina and are ready for a true Conservative leader like Mrs. Few.
