LOFTIS LAUNCHES NEW ADS; RELEASES RESEARCH
REVEALS STATE TREASURER GETS ‘FULL TIME PAY FOR PART TIME WORK’
COLUMBIA, SC – Conservative Republican Curtis Loftis launched a new statewide television and radio ads today, Monday, May 10. Loftis did so as he unveiled detailed research analysis which shows Converse Chellis works less than 20 hours a week.
Loftis revealed the research at a 11:00 am press conference in Columbia today.
“South Carolinians work hard every day. They work forty hour weeks for a living. Our State Treasurer should do the same thing,” Loftis stated.
Both the ads and the “40 Hour Work Week Tour” highlight the need for full time work out of elective official who receive full time pay from taxpayers.
Throughout the week, Loftis will shine the light on the fact that the State Treasurer works an average of 13 days every month, only 25% of which is productive work time.
“If employees at my business showed up to work 3 days a week and were only productive 25% of the time, they’d be looking for a new job,” Loftis continued.
This week, May 10-14, Loftis will bring his “40 Hour Work Week Tour” across South Carolina. He will meet with other business owners and explain his plan of applying common sense principles to State Government. His plan includes an immediate audit.
Recently, news broke that the State Treasurer’s Office lost track of $60 million dollars and caused additional cuts to the state budget.
“We must run government like a business if we want to see real results. In business, if you lost track of $60 million dollars, you’d lose your job or even worse. In Columbia, nobody gets bent out shape. That has to change,” concluded Loftis.
