SC PIE CONGRATULATES CHAIRWOMAN-ELECT KRISTIN MAGUIRE OF THE STATE BOARD OF EDUCATION ON HER VICTORY

Grassroots Education Advocacy Organization believes Kristin Maguire will help lead the charge to empower parents in public education

COLUMBIA, SC – Today, South Carolina Parents Involved in Education (SC PIE) President/CEO Sheri Few congratulated SC PIE Co-Founder and Advisory Board member Kristin Maguire on her election as Chair-Elect of the South Carolina Board of Education.

“Kristin Maguire is a nationally known authority on improving public education,” said Few. “SC PIE will be proud to serve under her outstanding leadership.  In her new leadership role, Kristin will lead the Board toward our shared goal of assuring every child has access to excellent education.”

SC PIE is a grassroots organization committed to excellence in the public schools of South Carolina through the meaningful involvement of parents in children’s education. SC PIE believes that the missing ingredient to true education reform is South Carolina’s parents. SC PIE also believes that education reforms must support parents’ and communities’ values and that schools must serve their communities, always working to strengthen the parent-child bond.
